Update on Marijuana Odour Concerns

November 09, 2018

September 15, 2018

Recreational cannabis will become legal in Canada on Oct. 17, 2018. The growth of cannabis is controlled by Health Canada through the Cannabis Act and the Cannabis Regulations. These regulations state that buildings where marijuana is produced should not emit odours into the neighborhood. Unfortunately, I've received complaints from residents living in south Langley who've noticed strong odours in their community. This is a serious violation of the Cannabis Regulations, and I've reported it to the Minister of Health and Health Canada officials. I'll continue to monitor the situation closely, and will be posting regular updates on my website and social media pages. Stay tuned.”
