Step up to the plate for Special Olympics
Langley's Community Living Days brings their annual fun Special Olympics baseball game to Langley on Saturday, September 26.

"We will be having our awe-inspiring baseball game again this year, RCMP versus media, with some very special athletes taking part as well," said spokesperson Sharla Mauger.

MP Mark Warawa, MLAs Mary Polak and Rich Coleman, Mayors Peter Fassbender and Rick Green will provide their "non-partisan umpire skills" this year as VIP umpires.

The Aldergrove Star, Langley Times, Langley Advance, and Langley RCMP will pull together a few members to "field" a team.

"This year we are celebrating the upcoming Olympics as well, so we have some extra special surprises," said Mauger.

Game time is a little earlier this year at 2 p.m. but in the same location, the ball field directly adjacent to Douglas Park Elementary School.

"Thanks to each and every one of you for your continuous support of our Community Living Days Event -- Celebrating Diversity in our Communities for over a decade."
