Four elected officials representing Langley City, Langley Board of Education, the province and the federal government answered questions at a Saturday forum.
The panel was composed of school board Chair Wendy Johnson, City Mayor Peter Fassbender, Langley MLA Mary Polak, and Langley MP Mark Warawa.
The Langley City-centric question session took place at the Douglas Park Recreation Centre.
The group was there to answer any questions posed by members of the audience or over Twitter.
All the members of the group talked about ways to prevent bullying, including anti-harassment policies in schools.
Fassbender and Polak both fielded questions about TransLink and local transportation, with Fassbender supporting road pricing, while Polak noted that tolling all bridges is against current policy.
There was a question about amalgamating the Langleys, which Fassbender quickly dismissed. "I think people need to get over it," he said.
Other questions included queries about anti-drug education in schools, local developments, and property rights.
Polak answered a question about meat inspection, noting that it seems simple but is actually very complicated to regulate properly.
About 45 people attended the forum, including a number of City councillors.
