Langley MP Mark Warawa will be hosting a free Tax Seminar for Seniors at the Langley Seniors Resource Centre (20605 51B Avenue) on Friday, September 25th, 2009.

Coffee will begin at  9:30am followed by the Tax Seminar to be held by a representative from Canada Revenue Agency at 10:00am.  This seminar is to answer any of your tax questions as well as advise you of any changes to the tax rules, and new benefits to seniors.

Topics will include: common tax credits for seniors, pension income splitting, services for seniors and how to use My Account, paying taxes by installments and authorizing someone to represent you.

“We are responding to a number of inquiries we have had recently from seniors especially who would like to know what tax credits and benefits are available to them, and who need more information when filing their returns,” says Warawa.  “I look forward to the opportunity to present this forum at the Seniors Resource Centre”.
