Langley MP’s ‘Gift of Christmas’ Free Community Concert will go on Despite fire at Chief Seapass Theatre
For the past five years, Langley MP Mark Warawa’s office has hosted the Gift of Christmas, a free Christmas concert of professional singers as a way of giving back to the community.  “This year we strove to make the concert more theatrical, with professional lighting, sound technicians and video displays to augment the exceptional talents of our performers,” says Warawa. “As a result, we needed a theatrical venue. Chief Seapass Theatre in Fort Langley was the best venue in town.”  That is until vandalism and the resulting fire and fire damage on October 30th almost cancelled the event.

“The show must go on,” quipped Warawa, whose staff quickly arranged for the show to be held on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Langley Community Music School (4899 207 Street), where it has been held for the past 3 years.

“This show is becoming a Langley Christmas tradition for many people who are looking forward to a first class performance again this year, and that’s exactly what we are going to put forward.”

“The Gift of Christmas concert is literally, my offices’ Christmas Gift to the community,” says Warawa. ‘It is produced with extensive work by my staff who has been working for months to put on a great show for Langley residents.

This year the Gift of Christmas will feature the professional musical talents of vocalists Andrea and Amaris, opera soprano Alison Nystrom, pianist Dennis Enns, and Langley’s young singing sensation, Cole Armour.
A welcome reception with refreshments begins at 1:30pm.

Seating is limited, but all are welcome.  The event is free but donations to the Langley Food Bank gratefully accepted.
