Harper Government Invests in CCI Learning Solutions

LANGLEY, British Columbia, November 28, 2012 – An investment in book publishing in Langley will help boost the regional economy. CCI Learning Solutions will continue to produce educational books for interested readers everywhere, thanks to an investment from the Government of Canada. This was announced today by Mark Warawa, Member of Parliament (Langley), on behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

CCI Learning Solutions is a publisher of educational materials on information and communications technology. The organization empowers training providers with the tools and knowledge to offer globally recognized certification programs

“This year marks the start of the five-year countdown to Canada’s 150th birthday in 2017,” said Minister Moore. “Our Government is proud to invest in projects that contribute to our collective identity and define who we are as Canadians. On the road to 2017, let us continue to celebrate all of the things that make Canada the united, prosperous, and free country we are today.”

“The Canadian book industry contributes to the nation’s quality of life and to the economic and cultural strength of our communities,” said Mr. Warawa “The Government of Canada is proud to support a publisher that helps educate people and provides them with the tools to achieve their full potential.”

“The quality of CCI Learning Solutions’ courseware books is increasingly recognized across the international academic IT training industry, and our sales are now growing rapidly through exports to the USA and an expanding number of other countries,” said Ian Caunt, Chief Executive Officer of CCI Learning Solutions. “Support from the Government of Canada has been critical in sustaining the company and laying the foundations for this growth.”

The Government of Canada has provided funding of $164,667 through the Support for Publishers stream of the Canada Book Fund (CBF). The principal objective of the CBF is to ensure access to a diverse range of Canadian-authored books in Canada and abroad. The Fund seeks to achieve this objective by fostering a strong Canadian book industry that publishes and markets Canadian-authored books.
