Cash grant for KPU
Langley Advance - Langley's campus of Kwantlen Polytechnic University is getting a sizable federal grant to upgrade and become greener.
The federal Knowledge Infrastructure Program has allocated $872,000. MP Mark Warawa presented the grant to Kwantlen president David Atkinson.

Scott Nicoll, Kwantlen board chair, and David Atkinson, Kwantlen Polytechnic University president, accepted the $872,500 of funding from MP Mark Warawa.

The upgrades will include renovation to student services, upgraded lighting, and controls to reduce energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.
The renovated and expanded Langley Campus student affairs wing will enhance Kwantlen's student services by providing support to program initiatives in the areas of sustainability, environmental protection, horticulture and urban agricultural sciences.
In addition to the federal funding, the province will provide matching funding, bringing the total for upgrades to $1.7 million.
Warawa recently awarded $2.6 million to Trinity Western University under this program.
