The infrastructure money is coming and it amounts to $6 million for Langley Township. That includes road work in Walnut Grove and Highway 10, and increasing the height of the West Langley Dike.

"These are very important dollars for the Township of Langley providing much needed infrastructure dollars for our growing community, as well as ensuring that environmental protection measures are also enhanced," said Langley MP Mark Warawa.

The projects include $3.3 million reconstruct 96th Avenue at Telegraph Trail/198th Street, $2.2 million for the diking to reduce flood risk, and just over $1 million to resurface seven kilometres of Highway 10 from Springbrook Road to 72nd Avenue.

Warawa noted that these projects will provide several jobs, important during the global economic recession. The money is part of the Building Canada Fund, a federal infrastructure program, and the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund, a $127 million fund created to help stimulate the economy.
