Parliamentary History

Mark was re-elected in 2011 to the 41st Canadian Parliament for his fourth term as the Member of Parliament for Langley with the highest number of Federal votes in BC. Mark has the honorable distinction of being the Parliamentary Secretary to four different Ministers of the Environment, from 2006 to 2011, helping guide Canada through 5 difficult years of minority Government. In 2011, he was honored with the position of Chair of the Standing Committee of Environment and Sustainable Development for Canada, overseeing Canada’s Environmental Committee work, studies and legislative reviews.

Mark is also very busy with important bilateral relationships. He is the Vice Chair of the Canada-Mexico Parliamentary Group, Treasurer of the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Group and Director for the Canada-Taiwan, Canada-Korea and Canada-Israel Parliamentary Groups.

Mark was with Prime Minister Harper, representing Canada on an official State visit to Ukraine. Mark also lead a Canadian Parliamentarian delegation to Taiwan.
