About Mark

Mark Warawa was elected to the House of Commons representing Langley, British Columbia in 2004 and was re-elected in 2006. He currently serves as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of the Environment.  He also serves as an alternate member of the Justice and Human Rights Committees.
Mark has introduced several pieces of legislation, including to lower the impaired driving levels to .05, an amendment to the Motor Vehicle Safety Act to include the definition of vehicle immobilizers as standard motor vehicle equipment, as well as legislation to toughen sentences for those convicted of motor vehicle theft.

Prior to being elected Member of Parliament, Mark worked for ICBC as Langley’s Road Safety/Loss Prevention Co-ordinator.  Mark was responsible for ensuring all aspects of road safety initiatives and auto crime prevention programs.

Mark has more than 13 years’ experience in public service as a Municipal Councillor and Regional District Director. Mark also has 30 years’ experience as a successful business owner.

Mark met his wife Diane while attending Trinity Western University. They have been married 36 years.  They have lived in both Langley City and Township, and currently reside in Brookswood. Four of Mark’s five children were born in Langley. They have four grandchildren.  Mark’s parents and grandparents are also from Langley; five generations of Warawas have made Langley their home.
